Things to Do Today!
BBQ PICNIC PARK
Beachside BBQ and Picnic Park
On the island there are numerous really cool places that are popular to get outside and enjoy the weather. You can hang right on the beach in a beach chair or take advantage of the barbecue pits that are available. Many of the locals like to congregate over here at Higgs Beach which is on Atlantic Avenue, just west of the White Street Pier. Plenty of people use this for barbecue picnics, just about each and every day of the year.

Where to go for BBQ in Key West
Stop by Daddy Bones BBQ Restaurant and pick up your food (2502 North Roosevelt Boulevard). They will help you have the best bbq picnic lunch of all time! Some of the things I like a lot there: 1 High Springs Chicken (Chargrilled chicken breasts topped with bbq sauce, bacon, sauteed mushrooms and jack cheese) 2 Dixon Burger (One half pound fresh burger comes with lettuce, tomato, onion, pickles with american cheese) 3 Sweet & Smokey Ribs (Full slab of sweet & smokey cut ribs served with bbq beans, coleslaw and garlic bread).

Where is the best Key West picnic sandwich shop?
Do not laugh, but you will not believe the value that the waterfront McDonald's has going. This is our spot for picking up breakfast and heading over here to enjoy it at the park. We like the Cheese Egg & Sausage McGriddles, Hot Cinnamon Bun, Breakfast Burrito Mix with Sausage, Big Boy Breakfast, plus the best of all Pancake Stack with Syrup and Sausage.

Living like a local in Key West
Checking out the numerous little parks around the city is really entertaining. There must be a dozen or maybe 15 or so that keep everybody busy with fitness or just outdoor sightseeing. The Salute Restaurant is on the beach, which has really good seafood. They are owned and operated by the same people as Blue Heaven in Bahama Village. Prices are just a little bit higher than over at the Blue Heaven Restaurant.
