A Really Cool Place to Explore

Super cool to see and do is the Crane Nature Center. It has lots of interesting and educational interpretative displays of local marine life and exhibits of Florida Keys interest. It holds a tropical forest preserve, with nature trails and a museum of the local natural history. The bird center rescues injured Florida Keys wild birds.

Marathon Florida Dog Park
Dogs are allowed on the trails, just as long as you keep them quiet and on a leash.

Things to See in Marathon Florida
When you tour the Crane Point Hammock's forest you will see a small house (Adderley house), pay close attention. It was constructed around 1905 and the oldest house in the Keys outside of Key West. When people talk about Bahamian architecture in the Florida Keys, this is it.

Learning About the Florida Keys
We very much enjoyed touring the nature area, trail systems, and boardwalk. Watch out for the poisonwood tree, which causes a big rash on humans. The tropical birds are excellent.
