This condo unit styled rental property worked very well for us. Space was important, as staying for two weeks in Key West was a dream vacation for our group of four. You can pay more for oceanfront rooms, but that seemed like a bit of a waste. We spend most of our days on the boat, kayaks, and beaches, therefore there is no shortage of water views during the day.
Just down the street is Higgs Beach One to three bedroom vacations add a lot of flexibility, thereby being a great place for groups traveling together. You get a fully equipped kitchen, views of the Atlantic Ocean, full size heated pool, and tennis courts. However, tennis is plentiful on the island as free courts are just down the street at Higgs Beach. Just a 5 minute bike ride from Old Town and even quicker to the airport.
Storms are part of the Islands This hurricane warning is serious. When they bring Max Mayfield back from retirement, it's serious! Max Mayfield was just on CNN. I about fell out of my chair! He must be 100.

Staying like a King on the Ocean You will certainly go back from your vacation with nice tans, big smiles, and an assortment of wonderful lifelong memories. Fishing at night from the back of the property is fine, but use the pier next door for much better results.

Getting into the Watersports Spirit Terrific location, this is one of the better areas to stay in Key West. If you do rent of boat during your vacation, mooring it temporarily offshore is no problem. You can pick up your passengers, just have all the folks in shorts and wet-wear shoes or sandals.
