B-N-M BOAT MARINA
We stayed at the Hampton Inn by the Marina
The Mile Marker 80 zone is just fantastic for boating and fishing vacations to the Florida Keys. Bud and Mary's Marina has everything a boater will need and is right on the cut through between the Gulf and the Atlantic Ocean. That is one of the big advantages Islamorada has over Key Largo, as Islamorada has cut through bridges ever mile or so worst case. Key Largo has only a few spots five or six miles apart.

Dockside Sandwiches from the Boat
This is my favorite little food stop to pick up sandwiches to go. Yes, they have them and they do a nice homemade style. Got to give them credit for a lunch well done. Here are the sandwiches you pick from: Ham and cheese - Hamburger - Italian - Bacon cheeseburger - Chicken Salad - Turkey club - Cheeseburger - Tuna Salad - BLT - Turkey - Roast Beef - Grilled Cheese - and always a winner is the classic Turkey with Bacon (no mayo please!).

Fishing Locations in Islamorada Florida Keys
Florida Keys light tackle fishing is really fun on a nice day. Bud and Mary's is a good starting point as you can pick your target based upon the wind speeds and direction. Light winds are best for the offshore fishing and we tend to go inshore fishing when the wind whips up over 10mph or so. That provides the best experience for guests in the boat. You can take your catch to Lazy Days Restaurant, next door.

What kind of fish do you catch in the Florida Keys?
Light tackle trips make a great journey into the backcountry bayside mangrove islands. This is more scenic and a favorite for taking newbies. Offshore out on the Atlantic Ocean is more thrilling and you can target huge fish like sailfish, marlin, wahoo, tuna, and tasty mahi-mahi. Inshore and near the reefs you get more yellowtail snapper, grouper, trigger fish, and reds.
