Things to Do Today!
SIMONTON STREET BEACH
Key West Swimming Zones
To stop by and take a dip at this fabulous downtown beach park. Everyone knows about Smathers beach and Higgs beach, but this little beauty has special treats that are all its own. Wow, the boats come so close to the shore here as they enter and exit the Seaport Marina, which is only a few hundred yards up the coastline. These are big giant boats, like the glass bottom boat tour, and are filled with enthusiastic ship mates. A great area to swim, just stay very close to the shore. Getting wet in the Keys is fun!

The Water Gets Crazy Here
Rip currents may appear as moving or choppy water at Simonton Beach. Any time you see shoreline debris or beach foam floating out to sea, you may have seen some degree of a rip current. If caught in a rip current, first, don't panic. Swim parallel to the beach until you are out of the current, then head for the beach.

Special Secrets on the Island
When you are playing around Duval, Mallory, and the Seaport areas, it can be very easy to pass up this cute little beach park. More than a ho-hum spot by the water, from here you can watch the big ships and boats galore cruise by. Very popular for sunset viewing too. You now know about this spot, a sweet piece of beach never to be missed by you again!
