It is a big deal here as stone crabs are beloved for the healthy benefits and tasty treats. Most of the stone crabs in Florida are commercially harvested almost entirely in the southern tip of Florida. You just have to show off the way they are harvested on the attached video. Lots of work goes into our eating enjoyment.

Steps to Handle Stone Crabs
The way it works is by twisting off a single claw (just one, not both ever) from each crab of legal size. After, putting the crab itself back in the same location. The stone crab has the ability to re-generate a new claw in a year or more.

Month Ten to Five is the Season!
One good spot is Dantes Pool Bar & Restaurant, they know stone crabs! You do have to understand the deal here in Florida. Yes, there are rules and we have to follow along with the law. So it is Stone Crab Claw time from October 15 to May 15, month ten to five!
