I really like this side of island, the hotel is located across the street from the ocean on the northeast portion. Everything is a bit more spaced out and having a modern style room was just dandy. Coming home from the beach or downtown party scene is very relaxing, we spent hours and hours by the pool. The on-site bars are welcome and refreshing when we did not want to go out after dinner. We like the bike trail, which goes right by the hotel. Try the locals focused El Siboney Restaurant, less than a mile away. They have huge portions of yummy food.

Nearby Chinese Restaurant is Excellent There is a great chinese restaurant near the hotel, China Garden West. We tried a few of the dishes using the free delivery and loved it. 1 Shrimp Egg Foo Young (Deep-fried omelette patty, shrimp, bean sprouts, red onions, brown gravy and shrimp with plum sauce)
2 Vegetarian Combination (Stir-fried bok choy, broccoli, spinach, carrots, mushrooms, pea-pods, red onions, water chestnuts, white rice, egg roll)
3 and Steak Kow (Beef Tenderloin stir-fried with chinese vegetables).
Doing Key West Watersports Here is info and a video on water sports rentals at Smathers Beach. This would be a really good idea and so much fun. Pick a day that is not too windy.

Where is the best place to stay on Key West? You get more of an island feel when you stay on the beachside. Smathers beach is very popular and a great place for bicycle riding, down the A1A Scenic Trail. The big party on Duval is a couple of miles away and when you're done with that, you ride your bike back and the live the island life!
