Much more than a Fishing Village
Any chance to take a getaway to Key West is the time to smile really wide. The anticipation is always special when we head down the Overseas Highway toward this Caribbean Style Paradise, but you are in Florida. The trip down is fantastic and when you arrive it all hits your head, the Margaritas! Every day of the week is a party as there is always something happening in Florida's number one cocktail and fishing town.

We love the Happy Hour Bars
Do some planning so you do not miss the top attractions, seafood dining, and great watersports fun. Make sure you do a bit of fishing, bicycle riding, snorkeling and happy hours! I really like the half price appetizers at the Alonzo Bar Happy Hour, a real deal. For a waterfront seafood dinner, go with the: (1) Lobster Primavera (2) Cilantro Shrimp (3) Scallops with Vegetables (4) Curry Shrimp (5) or the Marinated Grilled Shrimp.

Sarabeth's is the place for Breakfast
The spot for very well made and delicious omelets is over at the corner of Simonton Street and Southard. Oh yes, it is a really interesting place and is all about making the taste buds happy!

Easily the nicest parks in the Florida Keys are Fort Taylor, Bahia Honda, and Pennekamp Park. Key West is lucky to have Fort Taylor which is often cited as one of Florida's Top 10 Beaches, and we agree. The beach has really clear water and offers superb swimming and snorkeling so close to shore. It is great for beginners to practice a bit before going out on the reef boats. The picnic area is a nature lover's dream.
