Super friendly innkeepers come in all shapes and locations around the city. Because of the heavy focus on service, the island shines for hotels guests and many of the properties offer free breakfast and happy hours. Focus on what matters to you: a big swimming pool, relaxation, good views, or getting some privacy. Choices include the fancy brand names and smaller one-owner bed and breakfast cottages. Expect to be out and about most of the time, this is a fun packed island. Keep your eye on the hotel amenities that matter most to you and start packing!

The island is just fantastic, and it really is so clean and pretty during the day. The local government has tax money focused on keeping all the litter up and does a nice job. We love the island wide tours, seeing a lot more than Duval and Mallory Square. Cityview Trolley has the best deal going because you can stop and get off, then reboard at your leisure. Yes, the buses start to run at 9:30am and you can reboard until 4:30pm. Trolleys run at 30 minute frequency or faster. That is much better than the Key West Trolley Train, which is a one shot thing and you are done. Everyone gets to see the sites and hear the entertaining live tour guide talk, explaining the history of the city, happy hour suggestions, and local things to do. It is very engaging, a must do on vacation.
