Oh my goodness the Seafood Buffet!
When you are fishing out on the ocean and the hunger builds, just start thinking about how beautiful the seafood buffet looks once you walk into the Whale Harbor Restaurant. Yes, this is once magical moment. I remember doing this as a ten year old boy. It is huge! Having the ability to try all the dishes and seafood for one price is just outstanding. The trick to it all is to be extra hungry upon arrival and then take your time. Forget the college freshmen at the buffet piling it on method. No, just get a little each time up. Enjoy this experience and make it last. Here are the typical items on the buffet menu, and this just the seafood: Raw Oysters - Smoked Salmon - Fried Yellowtail Snapper - Baked Salmon - Conch Chowder - Sushi - Paella - Shrimp - Mussels - Seared Tuna - Conch Fritters - Seafood Chowder - Fried Shrimp - Crab Cakes - Grouper Francine - and Snow Crab. This does not even include the stir-fry bar and the prime time salads or even the fancy key lime pies and more for dessert. It is the classic keys dinner. What a seafood feast!

List of Upper Florida Keys Boat Ramps by Mile Marker
Many of the resorts and hotels in the area (like the Pines and Palms Islamorada) have boat ramps for the use of hotel room guests. When you make your boater-friendly reservations, just make sure you understand where your boat will be docked and how specifically the tie up works. Ideally, you want to tie up your boat to dock pilings on all four corners. This is the most advantageous way to keep the boat from touching anything when the wind storms pound it with mother nature's full force. Tieing to just two pilings on one side works fine in nice weather, but will not handle it during any powerful storms. Below are the public boat ramps from Key Largo down to Islamorada. Some are free and others have a dump in fee.
