Things to do around Islamorada
Islamorada is really special and we have been renting condos and hotels around the area for years. People do not realize how big it is, being part of Upper Matecumbe Key. Look at the map and you will notice the length of it all, from Windley Key as you are heading south and down to Lower Matecumbe further south. There is lots to do, especially on the water. Trips to Indian Key and Lignumvitae Key State Park highlight all the history We like to rent a boat for at least two of our days to do the watersports. Stop over at Robbie's Marina (MM-78) for both boat and kayak rentals. Nothing beats the mangrove trail system that is all carved out behind the marina docks. The Miss Islamorada at Bud & Mary's Marina is great for party fishing pleasures and you will catch plenty of fish (Sharks - Mahi-Mahi - Mutton Snapper - Porgy - White Grunt - Mangrove Snapper - Yellowtail Snapper). It is a sweet area to enjoy, it is one of the nicest places for nature in Florida.

GLEE has a Tavernier Drink Event
Once a month our group GLEE has a Drink Event and it is a hoot! We are looking for more locals that want to help out with the Green Living and Energy Education. Join us from 6pm to 8pm on the first Wednesday each month at Tasters Grille Tavernier Town Center. It is a lively group, just a ball, and for a good cause. You can please publish our website url for those that want a bit more detail or contact information to get a hold of us before the meeting. Super, thanks.

Home Cooked Breakfast and Seafood
If you want good food in the Keys, go to Mrs Mac's Kitchen. They have the best home-cooked food around an the atmosphere is really fun. I like the Conch Fritters there as they feature them as a special. These are huge in the Florida Keys and the recipes are just about the same in most restaurants. They are a deep-fried mix of chopped white conch meat, vegetables, red onions, seasoning, with key lime cocktail sauce.

Party Fishing Boat Trip in Islamorada
We plan to go out on the Captain Michael in Islamorada. That is the big party fishing boat. I hope we catch some good fish. Their website says you can catch grouper and snapper. Yummy!
