One of about a dozen really nice places to stop and swim on the way down to Key West. The park is nice for browsing the Shoreline and looking for marine life. It is very tropical and even a ten minute car break is nice. Take the boardwalk trail and look at the thousands of tiny crabs that dot the shoreline. You get the real Florida Keys nature here, and the crabs!
The parking lot is not huge and sometimes can be full. During Monday through Friday the parking lot should have availability all day long. Only on the weekends can parking be the issue.
The water has an extremely gentle slope and it does not get deep. Use wet shoes to protect your feet from the sting rays, star fish, and sea urchins. This is a dog park, with six foot leash required at all times. Dogs are not allow to swim unleashed. Anne's Beach is 7 miles south of Breezy Palms Resort.
