Hit the beach and true Florida Keys style. This place is absolutely gorgeous. I could not pick a better spot for those that are staying at the Largo garden lodge which is not that far away. Of course what you want to focus on is bringing your snorkel and mask as water clarity is the key to enjoying the Underwater world even in the shallow beach area.

Last year we stayed at the snorkel reef hotel and that's a winner. The park was set up to help generate money to protect the reefs. When you get out, swim to the reefs, since the boats have to float away from them.
This is a winner for stopping on the way down into the Florida Keys. It is near the top part of the fist main island, at mile marker 102. Have fun for an hour or two, plus the tour boats go out from here. Great beach for those that live regularly in Key Largo.
Water clarity makes this one of the coolest beach parks. We wanted everyone to know just how extremely nice this huge place is. A great family park, with plenty of picnic and grilling spots.

The Reef Trips are right here, you can pick up a ticket at the office and schedule your snorkel trips. The first time we went to Carysfort Reef, a big gun ship, with mooring buoys surrounding the Lighthouse and is six miles out. Now we are planning for the North Dry Docks as it is supposed to be prime. As told it holds a huge minnow cave where thousands of silver glass minnows go right in front of your mask!
Designated areas are set up for picnics, but not a lot. Look around to find a spot in the shade, the most important thing located throughout the park! Yes, shade, cold beer, and barbeque grills.
