This is one prime kayak launching location that you must-do here in the Florida Keys. Your reward are the mangrove trails that are just around the corner on the bayside from the Marina Docks. It is easy to see what the trails look like with an aerial view using Google Satellite Zoom Mode. There are bridges to cross and islands to circle, plus the mangrove trails. Pay the launch fee (was five dollars on our last visit), park the car and you are off in a sweet paddling zone!
Maybe the coolest thing you can do during a Florida Keys Vacation. The marina also has a Party Fishing boat that goes out four hours. Patio Dining is offered at the Hungry Tarpon Restaurant, which has nice views of the Tarpon Feeding Entertainment.
With a fancy new kayak, the next thing is to figure out the paddle and seat cushion. There is no rush since I have the paddles, but there are things to consider! You should get a paddle that has a video camera on the paddle end for easy selfies!
Perhaps a paddle go-pro video camera combo or just get a cheapie at Walmart. Getting a new kayak for 171 dollars was a steal of the life time. Lets plan new places, starting close by like at War Veterans Park, then move out farther. I like the idea to Go Eco-touring on an Islamorada Waverunner to see lots more.
