Picking out some great local art could have not been so easy. You can browse very colorful art prepared in watercolor and oil. They offer tons of fine art prints by a nice mix of special artists. My preference is on the scenes by the water with boats and tropical vegetation. Also, any of the homes with the cute little white picket fences are on my hot list.
This is my favorite local shop. We also try to come down each year during the Old Island Days, which is a huge Key West Art Show. The event is excellent and really has a lot of high-quality stuff.
This stunning art exhibit is so nice and we are always able to get something cool. This is the place which showcases the work of leading local artists (we always back the little guys). Be sure to ask lots of questions. Another great thing to see on vacation is the Key West Tropical Forest & Botanical Garden.
What a nice list of Artists are represented here. We are pumped up for the Upcoming Old Town Events: Key West Craft Show, Old Island Days Art Festival, and Plein Air.
I like the island style paintings that show the local scene. For instance, a view of a tiny old Bahamian lobster fishing village, loaded with big trees, colorful painted houses, with charmingly cluttered lobster traps and fishing gear out on the front porch.
