Lounge in the open air at Conch Republic Seafood, serving an array of beer, wine and island inspired full-featured-cocktails. Super Yummy is the menu and my pick is the black and bleu fish sandwich. It is magical when you take a fresh catch fish and loaded it up with spicy blackened seasoning. Whatever you get make sure to order a side of fries for dipping in their tropical sauce. Their blackened fish is so good, I know this because I ordered it for lunch and it was extraordinarily good. Everything tasted very fresh and was enhanced by the prime table views. It has to be the coolest place to sit and eat on the island. The all-smiles-here-location in an old commercial Fish House is part of why it is very successful. Whenever this table is open, get it quick! It was a really smart decision to eat with the harbor boat views. Any time of day is good, even the late night dining. Beer drinkers will enjoy their craft brew selection and the seasonal beers. Ask when ordering what is fresh, and pick between clams, lobster, mussels, scallops and more. The bar features an intimate atmosphere for quiet drinks with friends, family, or a loved one. Very good is the spicy local-caught-shrimp dish with marinara sauce over steaming pasta.
This is the place that makes the best crab cakes in town by far. The crab cakes have the perfect recipe and blend of ingredients. Look on the menu in the appetizer area for island style crab cakes. I have to compliment them highly on the key lime mustard sauce. We had to get some French Fries as well for I love to take advantage of the dipping sauces and variety of tastes. Seafood is really good when you can see the boats while you eat. The island salad is super healthy with the avocado, Mangoes, oranges, red onions, tomatoes, cucumbers and plantain chips on top of a big pile of mixed greens. The salad comes served with a citrus vinaigrette that I wish they sold in the Publix grocery store.
