What a neat and historic building that is a must see when down around the Mallory Square Docks. This Community Center and restaurant provides a interesting view of cuban culture. The food is so yummy with a tropical focus which mixes so nicely with Key West. Very popular is the arroz con pollo chicken and yellow rice. Each day they have salsa bands playing in the outside bar patio area. Most of the Florida Keys restaurants have Cuban Food influences.
For sure get the Cuban Nachos to start and then the menu is wide open with goodies for the main course. A good drink choice to try some thing different is the banana bash. The banana bash recipe uses cruzan banana rum and creme de banana, then served frozen smoothie style. Frozen smoothie style drinks go so good with the spicy foods. Chicken wing lovers can get a nice alitas de pollo plate. Cuban style chicken wings are marinated for a great taste. Very good is the cubano classic sandwich, which is always hot pressed panini style with roast pork, baked ham, swiss cheese, mustard and thin sliced pickle.
